PGE Energia Odnawialna is embarking on another major energy storage project. The company has launched a tender for the design and construction of a battery energy storage facility with a capacity of up to 400 MW and a minimum capacity of 800 MWh. The investment will be implemented at the Dolna Odra Power Plant in Nowe Czarnowo near Gryfino.

The launch of the tender process for the construction of a new, large-scale battery energy storage facility in Gryfino, with a capacity of 400 MW and a capacity of 800 MWh, is another important step in implementing our storage strategy. It aims to increase the total energy storage capacity of the PGE Group to 18.5 GWh by 2035. We are a leader in this area, currently accounting for 90% of the installed capacity of pumped-storage hydropower plants in Poland. In March of this year, we signed a contract for the construction of Poland's largest, large-scale battery energy storage facility with a capacity of 981 MWh. Today, we are announcing a tender for the implementation of the second such investment. It will be operational in 2029 and, like the facility in Żarnowiec, has already secured a 17-year contract on the capacity market.
The tender notice, published on August 1, 2025, is being conducted as an open tender, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Law. The deadline for submitting applications is September 16, 2025.
