RIC Energy Secures High Success Rate in Photovoltaic Project Authorizations
Renewable energy group RIC Energy has achieved administrative construction authorization (AAC) from the Ministry for Energy Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco) for 96% of its photovoltaic projects. This rate significantly exceeds the sector average, with only 66% of renewable projects that began the process securing AAC within the established timeframe, according to Miteco.
Of the 428 projects that initiated the process with Miteco, only 283 obtained the AAC, amounting to 28,123 MW of which 90% are photovoltaic and the remaining 10% are wind projects. RIC Energy's contributions represent nearly 5% of the photovoltaic projects approved by Miteco across Spain, securing AAC for 100% of its ministerial projects with positive environmental impact assessments (DIA) without losing any capacity.
RIC Energy has received permits from Miteco to construct 1,213 MW of photovoltaic capacity in Spain, involving an investment of approximately 900 million euros and creating around 2,000 jobs.
Pilar Garcia Rodríguez, Project Development Director at RIC Energy, highlighted that this success demonstrates the group's efficient processing and high levels of regulatory and environmental compliance.
RIC Energy, a Spanish company operating on four continents, is currently developing around 20,000 MW of renewable generation projects. It is also advancing projects in green hydrogen production, energy storage, and biogas.
