Saipem has joined hands with Seaway7 to jointly explore and implement fixed offshore wind projects.
The duo has already entered into a commercial collaboration agreement for the same. It has been informed that the projects will be large integrated turnkey developments spread across Europe, the UK and the US.
According to the companies, they will move forward with “selected projects where the combined utilisation of their complementary assets, technologies, products and competencies will generate significant synergies and improve project economics.”
The duo will work together in activities including front-end engineering design (FEED), procurement, construction, transportation and installation of foundations and inner-array cables, as well as the installation of substations and wind generator turbines, a local report mentioned.
The companies informed that they will work together to boost ehance operational flexibility and to further optimise design and execution strategies.
Saipem’s offshore wind business line chief operating officer Gianalberto Secchi was quoted in a statement, “The agreement with Seaway7 represents an important milestone to offer a more competitive value proposition to our clients on certain integrated fixed wind projects.
He further stated that the company will provide complete services for wind farms in line with Saipem strategy.
Meanwhile, Seaway7 chief executive officer Stuart Fitzgerald commented, “We are very pleased to partner with Saipem for this cooperation which builds upon the successful collaboration on the Seagreen project.
