Siemens Gamesa has finalized the installation of the Borkum Riffgrund 3 offshore wind park, a key development in Germany’s renewable energy transition. The project, which strengthens Ørsted’s offshore wind presence, showcases Siemens Gamesa's role in advancing the global renewable energy agenda.
Over six months, two installation vessels, 50 service providers, and hundreds of technicians worked to install 249 rotor blades (97 meters each), 332 tower segments, and 83 nacelles, together enabling the wind park to generate 913 MW of clean energy.
Located off the coast of Germany, Borkum Riffgrund 3 is one of the largest offshore wind farms globally, capable of powering over 900,000 homes. This project also supports corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs), helping large businesses lower their carbon footprints while securing sustainable energy.
Siemens Gamesa continues to lead the renewable energy transition, furthering its commitment to a low-carbon future.
