European renewable energy company Sun Investment Group (SIG) has secured a debt facility to support a 1,970MWp pipeline of mid- to late-development phase solar photovoltaic projects in Poland.
The pipeline features 323 distinct projects ranging from 1 MWp to 120 MWp. It includes around 100 MWp of projects ready for construction, 1,120 MWp in mid-development, and 750 MWp in early development stages, financial adviser Capcora said on Tuesday.
In addition to this portfolio, SIG has a further 190 MW of shovel-ready projects in other portfolios in Poland.
"The Polish market is currently one of the most attractive markets for investors and lenders in Europe and offers alternative ways of financing," commented Deividas Varabauskas, CEO of Sun Investment Group.
SIG’s overall portfolio now exceeds 3 GW, with nearly 300 MW of projects ready for construction. So far, SIG has successfully developed, constructed, and sold over 200 MW of solar power plants in the UK, Poland, and Lithuania.
