KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama)- Petronas' green energy arm Gentari Sdn Bhd has appointed Solarvest Holdings Bhd's subsidiary Solarvest Energy Sdn Bhd to install solar powel systems at over 300 Petronas stations nationwide.
The project, awarded by Gentari's unit Gentari Renewables Sdn Bhd, represents a majormilestone in Malaysia's energy transition journey, contributing to the nation's clean energy goals Solarvest said.
“lt demonstrates a growing environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitment in the oil and gas industry and solidifies Solarvest's position as a key player in Malaysia's energy transition" it said in a statement today.
Expected to start next month, the project will see the installation of solar capacity of more than 5.4 megawatts peak (MWp) across more than 300 Petronas stations.
'These solar systems are expected to be operational by 2027. Once energised, it is estimated to offset around 5,035 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year" it said.
