Malaysian solar installer Solarvest Holdings Bhd has secured a contract worth MYR 104 million (approximately USD 24.2 million/EUR 22.1 million) to develop a 43 MWp solar park in the Negeri Sembilan state of western Malaysia.
The contract was awarded by the Suria Hijauan consortium, which is led by the domestic property developer LBS Bina Group Bhd. The agreement was signed during the ongoing International Greentech and Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia.
Under the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) contract, Solarvest will construct a photovoltaic (PV) park capable of generating approximately 53,000 MWh of electricity annually. The facility will be situated in Senawang and is scheduled to connect to the grid by the end of 2025. Once operational, it is expected to generate around 53,000 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) for the market.
The execution of this PV project signifies LBS Bina’s strategic entry into the renewable energy sector, aligning with its strategy to diversify its product offerings and revenue streams. Through its subsidiary Setara Armada, the company will jointly own the PV farm with MWG Solar Energy Sdn Bhd and Ocean Solar Energy Sdn Bhd.
