SolMate: Compact Photovoltaic System with Integrated Storage for Sale

The CEO of the Austrian company Efficient Energy Technology (EET), Christoph Grimmer, told pv magazine that SolMate is a photovoltaic system with energy storage that stands out for its patented measurement technology, called NetDetection, which detects how much electricity is being consumed in a certain time and supplies the appropriate amount to the home.

The Austrian company Efficient Energy Technology (EET) announced the launch in Spain of SolMate, its flagship product.

“With SolMate, we offer a smart and simple PV plus storage solution for all homes, including apartments and houses,” the company's CEO, Christop Grimmer, told pv magazine. “In addition, it is important to highlight that all our photovoltaic kits include customized mounting options for balconies, gardens or walls, making installation easier for each user.”

According to the company, SolMate is a photovoltaic system with energy storage that stands out for its patented measurement technology, called NetDetection , which detects how much electricity is being consumed at a given time and supplies the appropriate amount to the home. When more electricity is produced than necessary, SolMate stores the excess energy for later use. With this ability to optimize self-consumption of photovoltaic energy, SolMate can contribute to savings on a home's electricity bill, according to the company.

The system can also be operated in island mode , supplying electricity to home devices in the event of a blackout via a dedicated outlet. SolMate is a Plug & Play system that consists of between two and four photovoltaic panels with dimensions of 175 cm x 105 cm and 370 W each, and a smart energy storage unit with two integrated inverters of 1.44 kW power .

The system has a power of 1,000 W in island mode in case of power outage. The panels are connected to the storage, with a connection cable of up to five meters, which in turn simply plugs into a regular wall outlet. This system has different types of supports ranging from a wall fixing kit for panels with rails, balcony hooks for panels with a handrail with a maximum diameter of 50 mm or 130 mm, or a kit of steel supports. for fixing to the ground.

According to EET, with SolMate you can save up to 50% of your home's energy bill. As an additional feature, in the event of a power outage the facility has an integrated emergency backup system. “SolMate's patented metering technology is capable of detecting the home's energy demand through the wall socket,” Grimmer said.
