Spanish solar power producer Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente SA announced on Monday that it has opened a new office in Berlin, expanding its presence in Germany.
The company said it has already identified over 5 GW of potential projects in the country, primarily in the north-east region.
Solaria Deutschland GmbH is banking on Germany’s national target of reaching 215 GW of solar energy capacity by 2030, in addition to attracting investments from Spain. By establishing a presence in Berlin, Solaria can closely manage its projects, it said.
Solaria developed projects in the German market in the past. At present, its activity is concentrated in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Uruguay, supported by a financing package enabling further expansion in Southern Europe.
