Spanish developer Qualitas Energy to focus its investments in Chile

Spanish developer Qualitas Energy has announced to focus its investments and expertise on consolidating renewable energy assets in Chile.

For this, the developer has already opened a new office in Santiago in Chile. It is also the developer’s first such office in Latin America. As part of its international expansion, Qualitas Energy will focus its investments on renewables and transitioning infrastructures in Chile.

According to the company, its “focus will be on solar photovoltaic, wind, run-of-the-river hydroelectric power (RoR), and storage technologies, thus contributing to the energy transition that Chile has been implementing in recent years.”

Founding partner and chief executive of Qualitas Energy Iñigo Olaguíbel and Pérez was quoted in a statement, “We are pleased to announce the opening of our office in Chile, which represents a significant step in our growth plan and our ambition to accelerate the global energy transition.”

He further appreciated the office head as saying, “Alfonso’s extensive experience as the chief executive of one of the major power companies in the country for over 10 years has demonstrated his ability in project financing, participation in distributor bids, and leadership of operations and teams.

The company had also acquired a RoR hydroelectric power plant in Chile recently. The company further plans to strengthen its position in the Chilean market.
