TF Value Mart, a prominent hypermarket brand with 47 outlets nationwide, has announced a strategic initiative to enhance sustainability through carbon-neutral energy solutions. Partnering with leading EPCC firm Plus Xnergy, TF Value Mart aims to install rooftop solar solutions at 23 of its outlets located in Balik Pulau, Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh, Port Dickson, Taiping, Tanjung Malim, and others across Malaysia.
The initiative is projected to yield substantial savings of RM132.6 million over 25 years, driven by an estimated annual generation of 8,089,425.92 kWh of renewable energy. This effort is expected to offset approximately 3,932,007.03 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions during the same period. TF Value Mart’s CEO, Mr. Ho Mun Hao, emphasized the company’s commitment to reducing energy consumption and operational costs in the short term, while contributing to a greener future for communities in the long run.
Mr. Ko Chuan Zhen, Group CEO of Plus Xnergy, highlighted their expertise in deploying solar solutions for prominent retail brands and malls, expressing eagerness to expand their footprint in the retail sector and accelerate renewable energy adoption.
In addition to solar installations, TF Value Mart plans to introduce electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at four outlets, including Tambun, Raub, Nusa Bestari, and Gua Musang. These stations are part of TF Value Mart’s broader sustainability strategy to support the growing adoption of cleaner transportation options.
The initiative aligns with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), emphasizing solar PV installations as a key component in achieving renewable energy goals. TF Value Mart stands to benefit from government incentives under the Capital Allowance and Green Investment Tax Allowance, further bolstering their commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
The implementation of these initiatives underscores TF Value Mart’s proactive stance in environmental stewardship and its contribution towards Malaysia’s renewable energy targets
