Singapore-based TotalEnergies ENEOS has brought online almost 28 MWp of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays at the manufacturing hub of South Korean technology group Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX:005930) in Vietnam.
The electrical and electronic equipment maker will use the green electricity under a power purchase agreement (PPA) signed under a national programme, TotalEnergies ENEOS said on Friday. Under the 20-year contract, the Singaporean company financed and built the facility and will now operate and maintain it, supplying Samsung Electronics with more than 40,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually from a plant equipped with roughly 45,000 PV modules.
The PPA is linked to the Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex (SEHC) in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City. It will cover 26% of the site's electricity consumption and avoid more than 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over the contracted period.
The solar project at SEHC, Samsung Electronics' second largest global manufacturing site, supports the electronics group's 100% renewables target.
TotalEnergies ENEOS, which focuses on the development of onsite solar distributed generation for businesses across Asia, aims to deploy 2 GW of decentralised solar over the next five years. The system’s construction was initiated in April 2025.
