Vena Energy has started the operations of two solar power plants in Nanbu-cho, Aomori Prefecture in Japan with a total capacity of 20 megawatts.

In a statement, Vena Energy said the Nanbucho 2 and Nanbucho 3 solar projects can provide electricity to around 4,900 households.

They can also avoid around 10,652 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and save 18 million litres of water annually, compared to thermal generation.

“Aomori Prefecture holds special significance for Vena Energy, as it is now home to 16 of our renewable energy projects. It is a testament to our ongoing commitment to the region, and we extend our sincere appreciation to our host communities for their continued support,” said Raul Rienda, Country Head of Japan.
