Vestas secures turbine contract for 86MW Wind Park in Brazil

Vestas has won a turbine contract for 86MW Wind Park in Brazil.

It secured the contract with Brazilian renewables developer PEC Energia. The Serra das Vacas wind park is located in the state of Pernambuco.

According to Vestas, it will supply and install the wind turbines. It has been informed that the project will feature 19 V150-4.5MW turbines. Vestas will be responsible for maintenance and service of the turbines for 25 years.

It has been reported that turbine delivery and commissioning might take place in 2024.

The latest development has helped Vestas cross the milestone of 7GW of order intake in Brazil. It has been working to supply wind turbines since 2018.

Vestas Latin America president Eduardo Ricotta commented, “We are pleased with this first collaboration with PEC Energia. We are certain that the proven track record of our 4MW platform combined with the long-term service agreement will provide the certainty they need to power their client’s business in a broad range of industries with reliable, cost-competitive, and sustainable energy.”

PEC Energia is under Engeform Energia Renovável, which is developing an 11GW pipeline of wind projects.

Gilberto Feldman, president and shareholder of Engeform Energia Renovável, was quoted, “Thanks to this deal with Vestas, we expect to build and operate our best projects to deliver to our corporate clients the most competitive source of energy in Brazil” said.
