SSE Renewables’ FuturEnergy Ireland Secures Consent for 158 MW Wind Project in Ireland

SSE Renewables’s joint venture FuturEnergy Ireland has received planning consent for a 158 MW onshore wind project in Ireland, advancing one of the country’s latest utility-scale wind developments.

The approval allows the project to move forward into the next stages of development, including detailed design, procurement, and preparation for construction. Once operational, the wind farm is expected to contribute significant renewable electricity generation to Ireland’s power system, supporting national decarbonization targets and increasing the share of wind energy in the country’s generation mix.
