EVN and LS Electric Explore Collaboration on Smart Grid and Clean Energy Technologies
Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and South Korea’s LS Electric recently met to explore potential collaborations in advancing Vietnam’s energy sector.
During the meeting, LS Electric Chairman Dr. Koo Ja-Kyun presented the company’s latest efforts in smart grid development, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications aimed at improving power system efficiency. He also highlighted LS Electric’s ongoing work on high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and the development of small modular reactors (SMRs) designed for distributed power systems, data centers, and low-emission solutions.
EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An reaffirmed EVN’s commitment to building a modern and resilient power system aligned with Vietnam’s revised Power Development Plan VIII. He emphasized EVN’s focus on integrating renewable energy, deploying storage technologies, and adopting advanced digital solutions to improve grid operation and management.
Both parties shared recent updates on their respective energy initiatives and expressed interest in future cooperation to support Vietnam’s transition to a more sustainable and technology-driven energy sector.
