Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City to cooperate with Danish firms for green development



Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City has announced to cooperate with the Danish firms for green economic development.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan made such commitment during the meeting with Crown Prince of Denmark Frederik Andre Henrik Christian. He said that the city would create favourable conditions for long-term investments and businesses.

He also asked Danish companies to invest and transfer technology to help it implement the government’s net zero commitment.

“HCM City is willing to be a gateway to the ASEAN market for Danish products,” he was quoted in a local report.

In response, the Danish representative has expressed commitment to support in Vietnam’s ambition of achieving net zero goal for 2050.

With the experience in renewable energy development, he said the European country will cooperate with HCM City in the field of green economy and sustainable growth.


A local report mentioned that he also suggested the two sides exchange experience and form a joint team to develop clean and circular energy serving the city’s green development.


Denmark is likely to invest more in wind and solar power generation.
