Voltalia has been selected by Ørsted to provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for its first solar power plant in Ireland, located in County Carlow in the east of the country. This turnkey project further strengthens Voltalia’s footprint in Ireland, bringing its total capacity of projects built or under construction in the country to over 540 megawatts. In July 2023, Voltalia was chosen by ESB and Bord na Móna to build the 108-megawatt Timahoe North solar farm. The following month, Power Capital Renewable selected Voltalia to construct four photovoltaic projects totaling 230 megawatts. Most recently, in the summer of 2024, Voltalia signed a major contract with ESB for the 75-megawatt Middleton House project, located northeast of Lanesborough, Ireland.
“We are delighted with this first collaboration with Ørsted, one of the world leaders in our sector. With this new service contract, Voltalia illustrates its competitiveness as a builder of solar power plants”, said Sébastien Clerc, Chief Executive Officer of Voltalia.
