Spain-based renewables company X-Elio has secured Google LLC as the off-taker of all electricity generated by its 128-MW Bell solar farm in the US state of Texas.
X-Elio said today that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google for the direct delivery of Bell’s electricity to the internet giant through a shared network. The power supply will support Google’s operations in Texas.
The Bell solar farm will also feature a 100-MW battery energy storage system to provide energy demand support round-the-clock, X-Elio said.
The plant is expected to commence operations in the second half of 2025.
“This agreement is a milestone in X-ELIO's strategy to develop and provide renewable energy for business supply. With more than 5 GW of pipeline, including 1 GW expected to reach by the end of 2024, the United States is solidifying its position as one of X-ELIO’s key markets,” commented Kerri Neary, Country Manager of X-Elio in the US.
