Israeli renewables developer Nofar Energy Ltd has entrusted the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a 172-MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Romania to Portugal-based CJR Renewables.
All civil and electrical works related to the Iepuresti project will be handled by the contractor, with the exception of PV modules, CJR Renewables said in a recent LinkedIn post. The company’s regional manager Bartosz Sobolewski commented: “This represents not only a partnership with a new client but also an expansion of our footprint in Romania with our 4th solar project in the country.”
The Iepuresti PV farm will be installed on arable land in the namesake village in southern Romania’s Giurgiu County, on the border with Bulgaria. The complex will consist of 286,680 modules of 600 Wp each adn 470 string inverters.
The solar park will be built alongside another PV plant in the Ghimpati regions of Giurgiu county. Together, they are expected to generate around 400 GWh per year. Nofar in March received approval form the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to get up to EUR 55 million in debt to finance the project duo.
