On Wednesday, French solar power producer Corsica Sole announced a power off-take agreement for the energy generated by its newly inaugurated 14.5-MW solar park in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France.
The company held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Campet-et-Lamolere photovoltaic (PV) park, which will operate under a 20-year corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with a major player in the steel industry. The agreement will provide the steel company with stable-priced electricity while helping to reduce its carbon emissions.
Located in the Campet-et-Lamolere commune in the Landes department, the solar park spans a 9.70-hectare area around the historic Chateau de Campet. This land was previously devastated by Cyclone Klaus in 2009. The solar farm is expected to produce approximately 18.8 GWh annually—enough to power more than 5,000 households.
Corsica Sole emphasized that the project includes an environmental initiative aimed at reforesting the site, further enhancing its sustainability.
