UK solar and storage developer Elements Green announced it has received a favourable decision for the connection to the grid of a 35-MWp solar-plus-storage site in Lower Saxony and is ready to start the public consultation process in late 2024.
The project in the municipality of Alfstedt envisages the construction of a solar power generating site that will be capable of meeting the annual energy needs of more than 10,000 households.
The solar plant will be backed by a 400-MW/800-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), touted as one of the largest energy storage schemes in Europe. The battery will supply power to more than 1.7 million people for two hours.
Elements is advancing a development pipeline of over 12 GW. The company has greenfield development teams in the UK, EU, Australia and the US.
