Eurowind Energy has officially commissioned the 35 MW Kiekrz solar farm in Poland, marking another addition to the country’s expanding utility-scale photovoltaic capacity.
The project has reached commercial operation and is now supplying electricity to the Polish grid, contributing to the gradual diversification of the country’s power mix. The commissioning represents a key milestone in the project lifecycle, transitioning the asset from construction into operational generation.
Poland continues to be one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most active renewable energy growth markets, with solar capacity expanding rapidly in recent years. This growth is being driven by a combination of policy support, declining technology costs, and increasing demand for low-carbon electricity.
Utility-scale solar projects such as the Kiekrz farm are playing an increasingly important role in reducing reliance on conventional generation sources while supporting broader decarbonization objectives. However, continued expansion of renewable capacity is also increasing the importance of grid infrastructure upgrades and system flexibility solutions to manage variability in generation.
For Eurowind Energy, the commissioning strengthens its operational portfolio in the European market and adds to its growing base of renewable energy assets across multiple countries.
The project also reflects ongoing momentum in Poland’s solar sector, where both domestic and international developers continue to advance utility-scale projects despite evolving regulatory and grid integration challenges.
As Poland progresses with its energy transition, solar power is expected to remain a key contributor to future capacity additions and emissions reduction efforts.
