Germany Average Residential Energy Storage Size – August 2025 Update

Over the past two years, the average size of residential energy storage systems in Germany has remained broadly stable, at around 5.6 kW / 8.9 kWh.

As of August 2025, the average system size stood at 5.56 kW in power and 8.73 kWh in capacity, reflecting a slight decrease compared with earlier levels this year.

This trend suggests that while Germany’s household storage market continues to expand in terms of total installations, the average unit size has plateaued and marginally declined, potentially due to more households opting for smaller systems as prices fall and incentives broaden adoption.
