The “Bartow” solar park is being built on an area of more than 200 hectares. More than 450,000 solar modules from Canadian Solar are expected to be installed there by summer 2025. There is already a PPA for the purchase of solar power.
Several large-scale photovoltaic projects are currently being implemented in Germany. One of these is the “Bartow” solar park in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Goldbeck Solar will be building a 260MWh power plant there in the next few months on behalf of Encavis Asset Management. The groundbreaking took place recently.
Full commissioning of the solar park is planned for summer 2025. By then, 452,592 bifacial solar modules from Canadian Solar will be installed in two construction phases on an area of around 205 hectares in the community of Bartow, around 150 kilometers north of Berlin, as Goldbeck Solar explained. Once completed, the photovoltaic system is expected to produce around 270,000MWh of solar power annually. Ecological aspects would also play a role in the implementation. A special focus is placed on biodiversity.
Pexapark had already reported on Monday that an agreement had already been signed for the purchase of solar power . The PPA between Encavis and chemical giant Lyondell Basell has a term of twelve years. It refers to the generation of 208 megawatts of the 260 megawatts of photovoltaic output. The companies did not provide any information about the agreed price.
