Spanish solar racking solutions manufacturer Gonvarri Solar Steel has won an order to supply 21 MW of its trackers for a solar photovoltaic project in southern Spain, the company said on Tuesday.
The supply contract was awarded by Spanish solar energy developer Solarig. This firm is building a solar plant called Colon in the Spanish province of Huelva in the Andalusia region.
Gonvarri Solar Steel said that it will supply its TracSmarT+ 1V solar trackers for this project. Solarig asked for 156 single-row and 288 dual-row solar trackers, which should hold around 32,000 modules.
Once in operation, the Colon solar farm will be capable of generating some 44,000 MWh of electricity annually, or enough to power over 12,000 households each year, according to the manufacturer.
