UK renewables developer-operator Harmony Energy has secured a credit facility of up to GBP 10 million (USD 12.5m/EUR 11.7m) to continue the development of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects and expand across Europe.

Dutch bank Triodos granted the loan, which was its first standalone loan to the energy storage sector in the UK, Harmony Energy said on Thursday.

At present, the firm has 516 MW/1,032 GWh of operational BESS assets across the group, including the London-listed business Harmony Energy Income Trust plc , and 268 MW/536 MWh under construction.

Its global pipeline contains over 11 GW of projects, according to Harmony Energy.
