Masdar Acquires Saeta Yield for €1.2 Billion


Masdar, the UAE's leader in clean energy, has completed the acquisition of Saeta Yield, a prominent renewables platform, from Brookfield Renewable for an enterprise value of €1.2 billion (equity value of €696 million).


Saeta brings a strong operating portfolio of 745 MW, mainly from wind energy—538 MW in Spain, 144 MW in Portugal, and 63 MW of solar PV assets in Spain. Additionally, Saeta offers a 1.6 GW development pipeline, providing substantial growth potential.


This strategic acquisition enhances Masdar's portfolio in the Iberian Peninsula and Europe, supporting its goal of reaching 100 GW of global capacity by 2030.


The deal underscores Masdar’s commitment to driving sustainable energy solutions and expanding its impact in the renewable energy sector, furthering its mission to combat climate change and support global sustainability goals.
