Meriaura Energy Plans Solar Thermal Plant in France

Finnish clean energy solutions provider Meriaura Energy Ltd has signed a contract valued at around EUR 1.7 million (USD 1.81m) to build a solar thermal plant in France, the firm said on Monday.

The contract will involve the turnkey delivery of a 5,800-square-metre (62,431 sq ft) solar thermal field for Les Serres Vermeil SARL, an organic vegetables producer based in Palau-del-Vidre, southern France. Serres Vermeil will use the plant to heat its greenhouse complex, Meriaura Energy said.

The project was developed in collaboration with Eiffage Energie Systemes - Cogénération SAS, part of French construction major Eiffage SA.

Construction of the plant is due to start in 2024. Meriaura Energy expects to finalise the project in early 2025.

Meriaura Energy, formerly known as Savosolar, is part of Finnish marine logistics and renewable energy company Meriaura Group Oyj.
