Nexta Capital Partners and Octopus Energy Generation secure Single Authorization for a 50 MW battery storage project in Northern Italy

Milan, August 26, 2025 – The joint venture between Nexta Capital Partners and Octopus Energy Generation, Octopus’s renewable arm, has obtained the Single Authorization (Autorizzazione Unica) from the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) for the development of an innovative 50 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located in Northern Italy.
This major achievement marks a further step forward in Nexta’s development strategy, which already includes a pipeline of more than 500 MW of advanced-stage projects, and aims to reach a total capacity of 1500 MW. The approved BESS project will make a significant contribution to the flexibility and resilience of Italy’s national electricity grid, supporting the integration of renewable energy sources and accelerating the transition to a more sustainable energy model.
