Polish solar and wind project developer PAD RES officially launched on Monday three photovoltaic (PV) farms of a total of 251 MW in different parts of Poland.
The facilities include the 138 MW plant in Stargard, the West Pomeranian province, which is among the largest solar parks in Poland. The company started its construction in the first half of 2024. The project's annual production is estimated at 140 GWh, which is enough to power some 65,000 households.
The other two arrays, of 86 MW and 27 MW, are close to the towns of Sztum and Mikolajki Pomorskie, respectively, in the northern Pomeranian province. The Polish firm obtained in August 2023 PLN 240 million (USD 63.3m/EUR 56m) in financing for the projects from the Polish Development Fund (PFR).
PAD RES, which is a joint venture between investment firm Griffin Capital Partners and real asset investor Kajima Europe, pointed out in a social media post that the implementation of the projects is part of its strategy to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the Polish energy mix.
