Partnership forms around 250-MW liquefied green H2 project in Texas

Renewable energy and technology platform Clean Energy Holdings (CEH) will work with EPC contractor Equix Inc and other partners in a project to build a 250-MW liquefied green hydrogen production plant in Texas.

The project will be realised through a partnership called the Renewable Energy and Technology Alliance, Wisconsin-based Equix said on Friday. The size of the required investment was not disclosed.

The proposed facility is planned to be installed in Clear Fork to produce an average of 30 tonnes of liquefied green hydrogen daily. It is slated to begin commercial operations in the third quarter of 2024.

ING Americas, part of Dutch banking group ING Groep NV (AMS:INGA), will advise CEH on the financial aspects of the project and will help the alliance secure financing, while Bair Energy will be in charge of construction management activities.

According to the statement, the project partners are currently working with “an experienced commodities group” to market the plant’s output and lead off-take negotiations.
