Poland: Entrix to Optimise 5.2 GWh of Greenvolt Battery Energy Storage

Germany-based Entrix has signed a multi-year deal with Greenvolt Power (the renewables arm of Portugal’s Greenvolt Group) to optimise and trade a 1.3 GW / 5.2 GWh battery storage portfolio in Poland. The agreement spans five large-scale BESS projects; the first two are under construction and slated to go live in the first half of 2026.

Greenvolt is building one of Poland’s largest storage pipelines, including 2,712 MW of BESS, 1,878 MW of solar PV, and 730 MW of wind within the country, as part of a 13.2 GW groupwide development pipeline. Its storage ambitions were bolstered by a €150 million capital injection from KKR. In Poland’s December 2023 capacity auction,

Greenvolt won 1.2 GW across six BESS projects—over 70% of the storage capacity awarded. It also signed with BYD Energy Storage for two standalone systems of 200 MW / 800 MWh each, backed by 17-year capacity payment contracts.

Under the new partnership, Entrix’s AI-driven trading platform will optimise revenues across day-ahead, intraday, and ancillary services—including FCR and aFRR. With this portfolio, Entrix now manages over 2 GW and 7 GWh of BESS in Europe.

Poland’s storage market has become one of Europe’s most attractive: following the opening of ancillary services in December 2024, annualised revenues for utility-scale BESS have ranged from €208,000/MW to €305,000/MW, according to Clean Horizon.
