Upgrade Energy Philippines (UGEP) aims to achieve an ambitious target of 700 megawatts through rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers by 2028.
The company, as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, has successfully completed the largest consumer-driven solar rooftop installation in the country, a 13.811MW project for Merbau Corporation.
UGEP’s President and CEO, Ruth Yu-Owen, expressed optimism about the growth of solar in the Philippines and emphasized their commitment to creating efficient and sustainable power solutions.
The company, in a joint venture with Aboitiz Power, plans to offer zero-upfront costs solar solutions for C&I clients and expand into utility-scale wind farm developments and battery energy storage solutions.
