The Polish PV producer R.Power will in future supply the e-commerce company Allegro with a solar power PPA. According to a company statement, this involves the delivery of more than 200 gigawatt hours (GWh) of green electricity between 2025 and 2035 at an agreed price. Specifically, it is a virtual electricity supply agreement (PPA). This means that there is no direct, but rather a balanced supply of solar power to the Allegro locations. However, the electricity must come from very specific systems.
The PPA effectively ensures price stability for energy and enables bank financing for the development of further energy projects. The agreement also includes guarantees regarding the origin of the energy for Allegro throughout the entire term of the contract.
“We not only secured the price of a GWh energy package for Allegro, but also the implementation of our climate goals,” said Anna Gorączka, Sustainability & ESG Group Manager at Allegro. “The agreement with R.Power is part of our decarbonization plan, under which we have committed to reducing emissions from our operations by 38% based on 2021 levels.”
“The agreement with Allegro is another significant PPA signed by R.Power in recent months. Long-term electricity supply contracts are one of our growth priorities,” said Przemek Pięta, CEO of R.Power.
