Seville, Spain – RIC Energy, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, has successfully attained the Ready to Build (RTB) status for its ambitious solar projects in Seville. This milestone follows a significant financial closing facilitated by Lightsource bp, underscoring a robust collaboration between the two companies.
The projects include Gerena 1, 2, and 3, which will connect to the Guillena 220 kV REE Substation, and Guillena 1 and 2, which will link to the 400 kV Substation. Collectively, these initiatives will deliver a substantial installed capacity of 243 MW, with expectations to begin contributing energy to the grid in 2026.
The development of these complex solar initiatives commenced in 2021 and has now reached a successful agreement. Lightsource bp has secured €175 million in financing for the projects, highlighting the financial backing essential for their advancement. Construction on the five solar parks is set to commence in November, marking a significant step towards enhancing Spain’s renewable energy landscape.
This collaboration not only reflects RIC Energy's commitment to sustainable energy solutions but also reinforces Lightsource bp's role in supporting the transition to cleaner energy sources.
