The two companies entered into a power sale agreement.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) will supply 600 megawatts (MW) of wind power to GRIDCO Odisha following the signing of a power sale agreement under the Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) Connected Wind Power Projects Scheme.
In a statement, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission has in principle approved the deal.
It is expected to be commissioned within 24 months from the signing of a power purchase agreement with project developers.
The 600MW wind power would be installed by Gujarat, Karnataka and Mahrashtra-based developers.
Under the ISTS Scheme, states with rich renewable energy sources can transmit power to states with insufficient renewable energy resources.
