Japanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc has concluded a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Molten Thailand for a rooftop solar project.

The PPA with the sports equipment manufacturer Molten is for a 999-kWp direct current rooftop solar array.

According to Shizen Energy, the long-term PPA was possible in collaboration with Thai independent power producer (IPP) Constant Energy.

It has been informed that construction of the solar system will commence in August. The project will be able to generate around 1.43 million kWh annually once it gets into operation.

As per a local report, Shizen Energy noted that the “local subsidiary of Hiroshima-based Molten Corp should be able to offset some 611 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in its factory in Sriracha, Chonburi province, eastern Gulf of Thailand coast.”
