Sri Lanka’s DPRE Partners with Sampath Bank to Accelerate Solar Energy Adoption

David Pieris Renewable Energy (Private) Limited (DPRE) has formed a strategic alliance with Sampath Bank PLC to enhance the accessibility and affordability of solar energy solutions throughout Sri Lanka.
The agreement was formally signed in the presence of key representatives from both organizations, including DPRE Chairman and Managing Director Jayantha Ratnayake, Executive Director Samantha Silva, General Manager – Finance, Strategy and Operations Lahiru Vitharana, Assistant General Manager – Sales and Marketing Prasanna Dissanayake, and Assistant Manager – Electrical Engineering Risil Rajasinghe.
Representing Sampath Bank were Senior Deputy General Manager – Operations and Branch Banking Deepal De Silva, Chief Manager – Branch Banking Keshan Dabare, Manager – Lending Products Dilum Ilayperuma, and Assistant Manager – Lending Products Sandaruwan Kodagoda.
Under this partnership, individuals can apply for Sampath Bank loans up to LKR 5 million at a fixed annual interest rate of 10.5%. For loan amounts exceeding LKR 5 million, the rate will be 11% per annum. Moreover, home loan borrowers who integrate solar systems into their homes are eligible for an additional 0.25% interest rate reduction.
Small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses that qualify for refinancing can access special loans of up to LKR 10 million for solar panel systems with capacities up to 50 kW, at a highly concessionary annual rate of just 6.5%.
Customers opting for smaller systems up to 5 kW can borrow up to LKR 1.25 million without requiring any collateral.
DPRE’s involvement brings further benefits to customers, including complimentary CEB clearance, grid connectivity, and free insurance coverage for the first year.
Additionally, customers will receive two free maintenance services during the initial year and a 25% discount on subsequent maintenance services.
The solar solutions provided feature high-performance Tier 1 N-Type panels with a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty.
Workmanship is guaranteed for 10 years, and all inverters supplied by reputable brands also carry a 10-year warranty.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in Sri Lanka’s renewable energy landscape by promoting cleaner energy while offering attractive financial terms and robust service support to households and businesses alike.
