Zelestra Completes 57 MWac Spanish Solar Projects Supplying 130 GWh of Renewable Energy to Tesla

Global renewable energy company Zelestra has announced the successful achievement of full commercial operations for three solar photovoltaic projects in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, marking another milestone in the company’s expansion of large-scale renewable energy solutions and corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs).

The Brazatortas I, II and IV solar plants, located in Castilla-La Mancha, have reached full operational status as scheduled. The three projects have a combined capacity of 57 MWac and will supply approximately 130 GWh of renewable electricity annually to Tesla under a long-term power purchase agreement.

The projects were delivered through Zelestra’s in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) team, demonstrating the company’s integrated project development capabilities across the renewable energy value chain, from project execution to long-term clean energy supply.

The successful commissioning of the Brazatortas solar plants strengthens the cooperation between Zelestra and Tesla, providing reliable renewable electricity to support Tesla’s sustainability objectives and clean energy procurement strategy. Through corporate PPAs, renewable energy developers and major energy consumers can establish long-term agreements that provide greater certainty for both project investment and clean electricity supply.

Jaime Burguete, CEO of Zelestra Spain, stated that reaching full operation at Brazatortas represents an important milestone for the company, ensuring Tesla receives the required renewable energy supply on schedule. He highlighted that the projects demonstrate Zelestra’s ability to deliver reliable, customer-focused renewable energy solutions while continuing to expand its renewable energy platform in Spain.

The completion of the Spanish solar projects comes as Zelestra continues expanding its global renewable energy portfolio. The company has recently strengthened its partnership with Tesla through a new 140 MWac power purchase agreement for the Lumen Farm solar project in Texas, further expanding cooperation between the two companies across international markets.

In Spain, Zelestra has developed a substantial renewable energy pipeline covering solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and wind projects. The company currently has a 6.8 GW renewable energy pipeline in Spain, including 1.2 GW of contracted projects, positioning Spain as one of Zelestra’s key strategic growth markets alongside the United States, Germany and Italy.

As corporate demand for renewable electricity continues to grow, large-scale solar projects supported by long-term PPAs are becoming an increasingly important mechanism for accelerating clean energy deployment. Zelestra’s latest milestone highlights the continued expansion of corporate renewable energy procurement in Europe and the growing role of utility-scale solar in supporting global decarbonization goals.
