Sustainable Power Solutions leads N$200m solar project in Namibian mining sector

Sustainable Power Solutions (SPS), in collaboration with Namibian partners Fortitude and the Oelofse family, is at the forefront of Namibia’s energy and mining evolution. Spearheading a groundbreaking N$200 million investment, SPS leads the development of a 10MW solar plant on Maxwell Farm. Under NamPower’s Modified Single Buyer (MSB) framework, this project pioneers a wheeling model, delivering clean energy directly to customers via NamPower’s grid.

Sustainable Power Solutions (SPS) is embarking on a visionary N$200 million investment to establish a 10MW solar plant on Maxwell Farm, North Central Namibia. Set to be operational by the end of 2024, this project marks the first instance of a wheeling model under NamPower’s Modified Single Buyer (MSB) framework. The MSB empowers Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to supply electricity directly to regional distributors, industrial giants, and municipalities.

SPS partners with Fortitude, a multidisciplinary property development and project management firm, and the Oelofse family, renowned for their commitment to Namibian wildlife conservation. This collaborative effort showcases dedication to sustainable energy and innovation, with the Oelofse family, owners of Maxwell Farm, actively investing in the project.
