Brazilian power producer Alianca Geracao de Energia SA has announced that the last turbine has been installed at its 109.2-MW Acaua Wind Complex in Rio Grande do Norte state.
Located in the municipalities of Santana do Matos, Lagoa Nova, Sao Vicente and Tenente Laurentino Cruz, the wind plant required BRL 732 million (USD 148.9m/EUR 136.6m) in investments.
The erection of the last machine marks the end of the construction phase which started in 2021. Featuring a total of 26 turbines spread over four wind farms, Acaua has been partially operational since August 2023 when the first portion was energised. A second section was launched in December 2023 and the company now expects the full commissioning to take place in the first quarter.
