It will cover the areas of renewables, oil, natural gas, and electricity, amongst others.

The governments of Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the energy sector.

In a statement, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy said the partnership will cover various fields in the energy sector including oil, natural gas, their derivatives, petrochemicals, electricity, clean hydrogen, renewables, energy efficiency, and storage.

Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and Kazakh Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev signed the executive programme for cooperation under the MOU.

The two government targets to roll out renewable energy projects and innovations in Kazakhstan to combat global warming and boost the Central Asian country’s energy transition and security.

The partnership will also support Kazakhstan’s goal to reduce emissions and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
