Italy’s state energy services agency GSE has launched the second solar tender under the country’s “transitional” FER X support scheme, offering a capacity range from 200 MW to 1.6 GW. The auction window is slated for October 17 to November 16, and is open to commercial & industrial PV as well as utility-scale projects.
GSE noted strong market interest in the first FER X round, which drew 1,387 proposals totaling 17,537 MW; pre-qualified bidders have until September 12 to submit final offers in that initial round.
By comparison, in the 16th tender conducted under the earlier FER framework, GSE awarded 278.5 MW of solar across 53 sites and approved two wind projects totaling 88.4 MW. Bids in that round offered 2.01%–7.91% discounts to the €0.078175/kWh ceiling, with the lowest accepted price at €0.07199/kWh for a 2.7 MW plant in Ancona province.
