MET Group’s 50MW Puerto Real 3 solar project has kicked off commercial operations in Spain. This is the company’s first solar park facility in Spain.
The solar park hosts installation of more than 88,000 solar panels, spread at an area of 130 hectares. The Puerto Real 3 facility is located in the Andalusia region.
Last year, MET Group had acquired a 100% stake in the Spanish 50MW solar project, which was at a ready-to-build status. The company is in operation in Spain for seven years. It has been working with its local subsidiary, MET Energía España.
Christian Hürlimann, Renewables CEO of MET Group, was quoted in a statement, “We currently operate six solar power plants in Hungary and two wind farms in Bulgaria. Other diverse projects are under development or already being implemented in Italy, Germany, Romania, Poland, and Switzerland. The green asset portfolio now consists of around 400MW in operation, including the Puerto Real 3 project we have just completed.”
He further stated that MET’s Green Assets Division has prioritized solar and wind power in Europe in recent years.
