Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 22 September 2026 — The 4th Vietnam Solar and Energy Storage Future Summit, hosted by Energy Box, concluded successfully in Ho Chi Minh City. Panel Discussion 1: Unlocking a New Wave of Solar-Plus-Storage Growth with DPPA, BESS and Industrial Decarbonisation

The first panel discussion was moderated by Abhinav Goyal, Director of PwC's Vietnam Energy Trading Practice, focusing on how recent regulatory policy adjustments are reshaping Vietnam's clean energy investment landscape. Legal and industry authorities joining the panel included: DIMAC Partner Nguyen Tuan Phat; Constant Energy Director of Business Development and Partnerships Tien Tran; Fourth Partner Energy Country Manager of Vietnam Long Lieu; Vietnam Green Transition Association Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Ho Quoc Nam; and Indochina Energy Partners Managing Director Thomas Jakobsen.
The discussion centred on the implementation mechanism of Direct Power Purchase Agreements (DPPA), which allow multinational corporations and large industrial electricity consumers to purchase renewable power directly from private developers. Panellists analysed the structural logic of both grid-connected and off-grid DPPA models, stressing that introducing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is a core measure to address generation intermittency, safeguard power quality and hedge against peak electricity prices.
Keynote Speech 1: Reliable Energy for All – LuckEner Residential Energy Solutions for Vietnam

Following the opening panel, Rocky, Product Manager at LuckEner, delivered the keynote speech “Reliable Energy for All – LuckEner Residential Energy Solutions for Vietnam”, sharing energy solutions tailored to the real needs of the Vietnamese market. Keynote Speech 2: Aiko — Why Higher-Value Modules Can Deliver Lower Project Cost

Trần Triệu Nguyễn Phú, Regional Sales Manager of Aiko Solar Vietnam, delivered the technical keynote speech “Why Higher-Value Modules Can Deliver Lower Project Cost”, conducting a detailed economic analysis on module technology selection for utility-scale projects.
He introduced Aiko's pioneering N-type All Back Contact (ABC) technology, which eliminates front-side gridlines to maximise light absorption efficiency, achieving module conversion efficiency of over 25%. Based on detailed Balance of System (BOS) financial modelling, he pointed out that although high-end high-efficiency modules carry higher initial capital expenditure per watt, their superior power generation performance and lower temperature coefficient can significantly reduce the racking, cabling, land and labour costs required per megawatt of installed capacity.
In addition, Aiko's ABC modules offer stronger resistance to hidden cracks and shading, ultimately lowering the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) of projects and improving the long-term Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for Vietnamese project owners and investors.
Panel Discussion 2: Can Residential Energy Storage Become Vietnam's Next Solar Industry Growth Miracle?

The second panel discussion was moderated by Le Hong Khanh, Chief Technology Officer and Business Development Manager at Go Solars, bringing together Vietnam's leading residential storage experts to explore whether the home energy storage market can replicate the explosive growth of the rooftop solar industry. Panellists included: Vu Van Hai, CEO of Hung Viet Green Technology; Ha Le, Business Development Manager at Halcs Energy; Alex Phan, Director of Alena Energy; and Cuong Tri Pham, Founder and CEO of PowerTech.
The panellists examined the core market drivers: continuously declining global cell prices, rising retail electricity tariffs and the gradual increase in EV adoption in urban areas. They candidly noted that the absence of a residential solar feed-in tariff policy has slowed early adoption, but consumers' awareness of energy security and peak shaving is rapidly improving. Participants concluded that, as system costs continue to fall, integrated rooftop solar-plus-storage packages will become the standard for Vietnamese households within the next three years.
Panel Discussion 3: Shaping Vietnam's Project Development Landscape — Solar and Storage Market Dynamics and Emerging Trends

This session centred on project development strategies and was moderated by Tung Tran of CNC. Industry stakeholders joining the panel included: Oman Singh, Head of Southeast Asia Business at Hero Future Energies; Viet Pham of Marubeni Green Power Vietnam; Supu Waisayarat, Advisor at SUPER ENERGY CORPORATION PLC; Toan VO, Environmental and Social Consultant at RINA; Bui Van Tien, CEO of VATEC; Ryan Duong, Project Manager at Solarvest; Ollie Powell, Commercial Director of Atlas NextWave; and Vincent Liu, Director of Southeast Asia Sales at Sineng Electric.
The panellists engaged in extensive discussion on land acquisition challenges, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), grid interconnection bottlenecks and equipment procurement strategies. Inverter technology vendors and engineering consultancies stressed that developers need to integrate smart inverter functions and modular storage capacity at the early design stage to meet local grid stability requirements.In this session, Vincent Liu, Director of Southeast Asia Sales at Sineng Electric, analysed the changing environment of Vietnam's renewable energy project development from the perspective of a manufacturer of PV inverters and BESS power conversion systems (PCS). He highlighted key technology trends including grid-forming technology, grid support capability and system-level co-design of PV inverters, PCS and BESS, and discussed the challenges projects face in commercial viability, technical adaptability and delivery execution. He also introduced the key factors developers should consider when selecting PV inverters or PCS, including grid code compliance, system compatibility, operating efficiency and reliability, lifecycle cost, local technical services and long-term O&M capability.

Keynote Speech 3: SKYWORTH — Why Higher-Value Modules Can Deliver Lower Project Cost

Phan Hữu Thắng, Sales Manager of SKYWORTH Solar Vietnam, delivered the speech Why Higher-Value Modules Can Deliver Lower Project Cost, presenting SKYWORTH Solar's strategic layout and expansion plans in the Vietnamese market. He elaborated on the company's transformation from a consumer electronics giant into a comprehensive smart energy service provider, highlighting its full-scenario product portfolio covering residential rooftop systems, C&I solar power plants and smart energy management platforms.
He emphasised SKYWORTH Solar's localised partnership model in Vietnam, which integrates a well-established supply chain and logistics system, standardised engineering and technical support, and localised digital O&M tools to fully empower local installers and EPC partners. Panel Discussion 4: Industrial Energy Demand and Decarbonisation — How Electricity Consumers Define Their Solar and Storage Project Requirements

The afternoon sessions opened with a high-level discussion on corporate energy transition, moderated by Dzung Nguyen Khoa, Founder and CEO of Coco Solar. Industrial electricity experts and corporate advisors joining the panel included: Gerald Abantao, Electrical Engineer at Arup; Douglas Macfarlane, Founder and Managing Director of VHALT; Cong Nguyen, Vietnam Clean Energy Manager at Allotrope Partners; Dang Khai Hoang, Business Development Director of Solarvest Vietnam; and Oscar Loza, Country Manager of Constant Energy Vietnam. The panellists noted that multinational manufacturers, electronics producers and data centre operators in Vietnam are setting stringent RE100 and carbon neutrality targets to meet global supply chain requirements. Participants observed that industrial end users are no longer satisfied with simple rooftop PV installations, and are instead shifting towards integrated microgrid architectures combining battery storage, automated load dispatch and digital energy monitoring, ensuring uninterrupted plant operations while maximising on-site clean energy consumption.
Keynote Speech 4: TONGWEI — TNC 3.0, Where Efficiency Knows No Bounds

Aran Huang, Technical Support Manager at TONGWEI SOLAR, delivered the keynote speech “TNC 3.0, Where Efficiency Knows No Bounds”, introducing TONGWEI's latest technology, TNC 3.0. Aran Huang explained the TNC 3.0 cell technology platform in detail, describing its advanced surface passivation, ultra-low resistance metallisation and optimised wafer processing, which push mass-production module power to industry-leading levels.
She emphasised that Vietnam's tropical climate — with its high temperatures, high humidity and heavy seasonal rainfall — poses serious degradation risks for PV modules. TONGWEI's TNC 3.0 technology, with its lower temperature coefficient, superior bifacial generation rate and stronger moisture barrier, effectively mitigates these environmental pressures, providing project developers with a reliable solution that maximises lifecycle energy yield and lowers the levelised cost of electricity.
Panel Discussion 5: Solar-Plus-Storage Empowering the Green Transformation of Vietnam's Industrial Parks

The fifth panel focused on eco-industrial park development and was moderated by Tran Duy Phong, Founder and CEO of PMG. During the session, several industry representatives shared insights: Huynh Quoc Huy, CEO of Renais Energy; BUI LE ANH HIEU, Corporate Development Director of Long Hau Corporation; Nguyen Vu Phuong, Business Development Director of Aquarius; Quang Bien Tran, Engagement Manager at C40; and Chris Ng, Head of C&I Business Development at Leader Energy.
The panellists explored the systematic green transformation of Vietnam's industrial parks: park operators are integrating rooftop PV, centralised storage and smart water resource management systems to attract green foreign direct investment (FDI). Speakers stressed that standardised tenant power purchase agreements, clear rooftop leasing structures and leveraging green infrastructure funds are core levers for driving the transformation of traditional industrial parks into zero-carbon industrial parks.
Panel Discussion 6: Vietnam's BESS Boom — From Policy Framework to Commercial Rollout

With utility-scale and commercial energy storage gaining strong momentum, this BESS-focused panel was moderated by Nguyen Ngoc Phuc, Partner at Nishimura & Asahi. The panel brought together core pioneers of the storage industry, including: Bryse Gaboury, Chief Revenue Officer and Head of Strategy at StB; Do Quang Thinh, Director at TSEC; Son Bui, Vice CEO of Stavian; Samresh Kumar, CEO of August Energy Vietnam; Minh Nguyen, Country Lead of GEAPP Vietnam; Dr. Ananth Chikkatur, Co-Founder and CEO of XanhTerra; and Nguyen Hoang Thuy Tien, Business Development Manager at Green Yellow.
The roundtable explored BESS's transition from an early policy concept to commercial viability, delving into business models that stack multiple revenue streams including peak shaving, PV output smoothing, frequency regulation and capacity compensation. Speakers stressed that clear grid technical specifications, standardised fire safety procedures and long-term capacity compensation mechanisms are vital to safeguarding project bankability and accelerating the deployment of battery storage in Vietnam's transmission grid.
Panel Discussion 7: New Business Models for Vietnam's Solar and Storage Sector — Exploring Innovation Across the Full Value Chain

The final panel of the Summit was moderated by Thanh Hai Nguyen, Baker McKenzie Special Counsel of the Energy, Mining and Infrastructure Practice. Legal and corporate strategy experts joining the panel included: Huynh Phuoc Tien, Sales Manager of TotalEnergies Vietnam; Markus Klemmer, Planetzero.earth Chairman and Managing Director; Nhan Nguyen, VTN Partner; Murthy Nuni, Marshal Green Energy Managing Director; Nguyễn Tất Tú Linh, SUN Energy Vietnam Commercial Lead; and Adam Moncrieff, Orrick Asia Energy, Infrastructure & Finance Lawyer.
Participants explored cross-border M&A trends, private equity participation, Energy Service Company (ESCO) models and carbon credit monetisation pathways. Legal experts stressed that proper risk allocation in EPC and operations & maintenance (O&M) contracts is crucial; investment managers noted that digital energy management tools and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) aggregation models will open up new value space for distributed clean energy assets in Southeast Asia.
Awards Ceremony: Honouring Outstanding Leaders and Innovation Pioneers
After all the panel discussions, Energy Box held a grand awards ceremony to honour the individuals and enterprises that demonstrated outstanding leadership, technological innovation and strategic resolve in advancing Vietnam's clean energy transition over the past year.
