Goldwind has successfully completed the 500MW Red Sea Wind Farm in Egypt, bringing the project into full commercial operation six months ahead of schedule.
The milestone was marked by an official ceremony attended by H.E. Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mahmoud Esmat.
Located on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, the project features 84 GW165-6.0MW turbines and represents Goldwind’s first major renewable energy initiative in the country.
The wind farm is set to power over one million homes, enhancing Egypt’s energy security while supporting its clean energy ambitions.
The project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 1.5 million tons annually — the equivalent of planting millions of trees — contributing significantly to Egypt’s climate goals.
This landmark project reinforces the rising role of wind energy in Egypt’s transition to a sustainable energy future and highlights Goldwind’s commitment to global clean energy development.
