A delegation from Malaysia’s Nexus Green Resources Sdn Bhd, headed by CEO Badrul Hisham and Chairman Ng Su Bun, recently visited Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region to evaluate potential investments in small-scale hydropower projects.
The key aim of the visit was to conduct a feasibility study for the development of micro-hydropower plants along the region’s river and canal systems.
During discussions with Kashkadarya regional governor Murodzhon Azimov, the Malaysian delegation and local authorities explored potential areas of cooperation. Regional officials pledged full support for the project.
Nexus Green Resources expressed readiness to move forward with the initiative in collaboration with local stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and efficient water resource management.
Additionally, Nexus Green Resources experts, in partnership with representatives from Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic Co., Ltd., conducted thorough on-site assessments of proposed locations for small hydropower facilities.
The delegation is also set to participate in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum, where a strategic cooperation agreement is expected to be signed between the Kashkadarya regional government, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy, and Nexus Green Resources Sdn Bhd.
This initiative builds upon a diplomatic milestone in February 2025, when Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim issued a joint statement pledging to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen strategic ties.
